 About April Dawn Camellias Minimize
The April Dawn Camellia's have a candy-strip flower that makes it a very unique looking plant. The medium sized, formal double flowers are produced in a profusion over a long blooming season. The habit of the plant is upright and very vigorous. At first young plants will grow rapidly and after a few years they will start filling in.
Homeowner Growing & Maintenance Tips Minimize

Planting & Establishing Shrubs:  Dig the planting hole to be at least twice the width of the root ball.  Do not plant too deep.  This is essential.  Planting too deep is the most common reason for young plant failure.  The root flare zone, which is the top most root in the root ball, should be located just above the soil surface.  If there is any soil above the root flare scrap it off.  It is recommended that you apply a thick layer of mulch around the shrub to help control weed growth.  Use a regular watering schedule throughout the first growing season to help establish a root system.

**Do not over fill the planting hole with 100% organic matter, use backfill and organic mix.**

 Interesting Facts Minimize

The April Dawn Camellia is part of a newer breed of camellias.

 Flowers & Foliage Minimize
The flowers are mostly white with a few deep pink streaks which makes it special and occasional branch sports will result in various color patterns such as half deep pink and half white flowers.

The foliage is a nice dark green year round.
